Nikken Sekkei Vietnam Co., Ltd Holds Opening Ceremony to Kick Off New Operations

(Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi) -- Nikken Sekkei Vietnam Company Ltd (NSVN) celebrated the official launch of its activities with ceremonies on March 18 in Ho Chi Minh City and on March 20 in Hanoi. Attendees included Masuo Ono, Consul General of the Japanese Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Kien Trung Truong, Ho Chi Minh City Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture, Tran Ngoc Chinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Urban Planning Association, Huy Nhu Pham, Deputy Head of the Construction Management Department, and leaders of partner companies.
Participants marked the festivities with kagami biraki (ceremonial rice wine cask opening), in which wooden mallets are used to break open containers of Japanese sake.

NSVN officially launched operations in October 2023, and is led by General Director Ikumi Inoue. Nikken Sekkei Ltd, NSVN’s parent, operated representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City since 2007 and 2008, respectively. They were folded into a new subsidiary in 2022.
“From here, we intend to hire more Vietnamese architects and urban planners and provide flexible and timely services, closer to clients,” Inoue said. “In the next five years, we will strive to complete more urban planning and architectural design projects, and hope to contribute more to the overall development of Vietnam."
The company will focus on master planning for new urban areas and resorts, designing residential areas, office buildings, public facilities, production complexes and logistics centers, and propose carbon-neutral solutions and transit-oriented development (TOD) models.
Nikken Sekkei Ltd has been actively involved in Vietnam since 1994, including several significant and impactful projects to the nation’s development. These include the Ho Chi Minh City General Master Plan, the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Nam De Guest House and the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi.
