Employee Satisfaction and Corporate Culture Make NS a Great Place to Work

2010.03

March 1, 2010 (Tokyo, Japan) — The Great Place to Work® Institute has included Nikken Sekkei in its list of the 25 “Best Workplaces in Japan” for 2010. This is the first time in the history of the list that an architectural firm has been included.

Nikken has approximately 2,869 employees worldwide of which 1,188 are architects and 1,470 are engineers, the most of any architectural firm in the world as of 2010.

The Institute employs a three-pronged approach to help organizations develop mutual trust between employees and management. It first surveys workers and assesses corporate culture at their respective firms. From this, the Institute identifies the best companies to work for then uses them as benchmarks to evaluate other firms.

Since 1980, the Institute’s work has been recognized as a comprehensive representation of the importance of trust in creating outstanding workplaces.

One of the world’s largest architectural design firms with over 2,500 professional staff, Nikken Sekkei and its eight Group companies offer comprehensive design, engineering, management, consulting and R&D services. Established in 1900, the company’s portfolio consists of over 20,000 projects in 40 countries. Its activities cover a wide spectrum of sustainable public and private endeavors including: new city design, high-density/mixed-use transit-oriented developments, super-high rise buildings, business parks, offices and facilities for commercial, cultural, educational and healthcare use.
