As a promotional base for prefectural culture as well as an international creative base for stage arts in the 21st century, this arts center was reconstructed as a symbol of recovering heart after suffering the Great Hanshin-Awaji (Kobe) Earthquake.
The building includes 3 halls; Large Hall (2000 seats) designed for concerts, opera, ballet and others; Medium Hall (800seats) designed for play performances; Small Hall (400 seats) designed for chamber music performances and each hall is characterized by the use of materials such as concrete, wood and brick.
The center is also equipped with sustainable schemes such as photovoltaic generation, rainwater recycle facilities and green roofs.
