Improvement and expansion of facilities has been under development since 1990 for the Niiza Campus including upgrading of the existing buildings, construction of three new buildings (including the Yurinoki hall) and complete re-landscaping, aimed at rejuvenating the whole institution as a pleasant, memorable and lively urban campus. Essential to the development is the creation of dynamic pedestrian routes through the campus and spaces such as plazas, piloti spaces, terraces and rooftops connected by bridges, all of which activate spaces for students and faculties to gather, meet and communicate. The palette of grey brick tiles and insitu concrete creates a unique Niiza campus atmosphere.
