The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) of Japan, which forms part of a multi-ministry backed "Tokyo Academic Park", serves as the information communication center to foster creativity and innovation in science and technology. Currently accommodating an exhibition zone for introducing advanced sciences and technology, a research zone and a communication zone for visitors and researchers, the building is flexible to facilitate future changes in research and exhibition type. A series of ten inner light courts bring in natural light and ventilation and together with the voluminous entrance hall provide a variety of communication opportunities.
