Outline

For the NIKKEI Tokyo Headquarters, special emphasis was placed on communicating the company's values and installing systems to avoid operational failures and interruptions. A vibration suppressing structure provides the highest possible resistance to earthquakes, while special independent power and heat sources can be used in emergencies. A minimalist style and a steel moment frame structure maximize space for a highly flexible workplace. Exterior fins designed in the shape of a fountain pen tip support the windows allowing for thin mullions resulting in plentiful natural lighting and spectacular views. The building's Nikkei Hall serves as a hub of international exchange.
