Human Rights
Nikken Sekkei considers the promotion of human rights to be one of its most important management priorities and operates a range of initiatives based on the following human rights policy:
“We respect human rights.”
For a company in which “people” are its most important asset, human rights issues form the foundation of corporate management. We therefore position human rights initiatives as one of the company’s highest priorities.
By respecting human rights in every aspect of corporate activity, every officer and employee contributes to the development of a sustainable society.

Implementation structure
Regarding issues and initiatives pertaining to human rights, planning, discussion, and promotion are carried out by the Company-wide Human Rights Awareness Promotion Liaison Committee, which is headed by the CEO and comprising representatives from all departments. The Office for Human Rights Awareness implements training programs and disseminates the latest information within the company. Additionally, the officer in charge of compliance and external organizations act as the compliance hotline that receives reports and works to develop a process for preventing, correcting, and remedying human rights violations.

②Nikken Group Human Rights Slogan Contest
In Japan, the Ministry of Justice leads a nationwide awareness campaign during Human Rights Week, which takes place annually from December 4 to 10. As part of this effort—similar to initiatives undertaken by municipalities, corporations, and educational institutions—Nikken Sekkei organizes a “human rights slogan contest.” The goal is to promote awareness of human rights and foster a healthy workplace environment by encouraging employees to think proactively about human rights, deepen their understanding of diversity and inclusion, and enhance communication and engagement. Each year, slogans related to human rights are solicited from all officers and employees across the group. Outstanding submissions are selected and formally recognized.
Collaboration with External Organizations to Raise Awareness of Human Rights
To promote corporate management based on respect for human rights and fulfill its social responsibilities, Nikken Sekkei participates in organizations working to eliminate discrimination rooted in social background differences.
One such organization is The Corporate Federation for Dowa and Human Rights Issue, Osaka, a group formed with the goals of establishing corporate management that respects human rights and of contributing to the realization of a society where human rights are fully protected.
