Nikken Sekkei presented its strategy for Vladivostok at All About Housing Forum 2018
Kaliningrad, Russia, May 18-19th, 2018. Nikken Sekkei was invited to be one of the main speakers at the ALL ABOUT HOUSING forum, organized by DOM.RF- Russia Housing and Urban Development Corporation. This year’s forum, based on crucial questions and trends about the development of housing stock, invited all the lecturers - renowned experts, leading architects, developers, businessmen and government officials - to speak according to their experience and vision on the forum’s topic.
What defines quality and affordable housing? In which houses do citizens want to live and what principles might improve housing conditions? What is the current living environment in the city and how will it change in the future?
Nikken Sekkei’s Executive Officer, Mr. Fadi Jabri, presented Nikken Sekkei’s project on Vladivostok as the main feature of his lecture; a study aimed at transforming the city into a point of attraction for tourists coming from the Far East, a magnet for the Russian economy, and ultimately a vibrant and livable place for citizens. In 2017, Nikken Sekkei was hired by DOM.RF to develop the master plan strategy for Vladivostok. The Nikken Group + BRT successfully completed the first stage of the project and is now continuing the master plan work on all the key strategic areas.
Over these past 10 years, Nikken Sekkei has accomplished, designed or collaborated in more than 100 projects, in over 20 cities across Russia and CIS regions; providing a holistic approach in delivering quality housing developments; TOD, Waterfront and Mixed-use master plans. Moscow, St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, and Nigny Novgorod are some of the cities involved, while Botanichesky Sad and Preobrajenski are two of the most prominent projects, setting new standards for a holistic design approach in housing projects.
