September the 26th, 2019. For the second year in a row, the Nikken Group’s stand at the annual Cityscape event in Dubai, has been graced with a visit by His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan, Mr Nakajima, and the First Secretary, Mr Ishii.

The renewed interest that the Ambassador and the First Secretary expressed during the visit is a confirmation of their support and appreciation towards Nikken’s vision and achievements in promoting the quality of Japanese design, sustainability, technology and creativity locally and internationally.

In recent decades, the expansion in overseas markets has seen a steady growth in the interest towards the Nikken Group, which has been granted numerous prominent projects including: One Za’abeel; Shapingba Station TOD development; and FC Barcelona Futur Camp Nou. While in Japan, the concept study named W350 is raising interest in exploring the possibility of wooden structures in super-tall buildings.

The arrival of His Excellency Mr Nakajimi, and of Mr Ishii at Cityscape Dubai has been welcomed by leading Nikken Group Officers: Nikken Sekkei’s Executive Officer and Regional Director, Dr Fadi Jabri; Nikken Sekkei Senior Executive Officer and Head of Design Department, Mr Masakazu Kimura, Nikken Housing System’s Chairman, Mr Akihiko Hamada, and Nikken Space Design Director, Mr Koji Takenaka.

During this 18th edition, the Nikken Group’s booth is divided into five different thematic areas – TOD, Hospitality, Tall Buildings, Sustainable Structures – showcasing some of the most relevant and recent projects. The fifth and main area will be dedicated to One Za’abeel.
