NIKKEN SEKKEI among the Jury Panel at WAF 2019

This year’s edition of World Architecture Festival Awards, held form the 4th to the 6th of December at RAI in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, will see two of Nikken Sekkei’s Executive Officers and prominent architects participate as members of the jury. This appointment, together with two of the latest Nikken Sekkei projects shortlisted in the “completed building” category, marks a positive ending for the year 2019.

Mr. Lu Zhong Xiao, Executive Officer and Principal of the Architecture Design Department, joined Nikken Sekkei in 1994 after finishing his graduate studies at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He also serves as CEO of Nikken's Shanghai office. He has been a key player in a number of award-winning projects in China, including “the Bank of China Shanghai Building” (2000), “the Shanghai Citigroup Tower” (2005), and Shanghai Greenland.
Mr. Tadahiko Murao, Executive Officer, joined Nikken Sekkei in 1998. Since then, he has handled numerous prestigious projects including Queen’s Square Yokohama, Pacific Century Place, and Midland Square; TOYOTA, NIKKEI, and SUBARU headquarters, and Central Government Buildings. He is currently working on the New Camp Nou (FC Barcelona Stadium). His projects have received the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize, the Nikkei New Office Award, and many more. He is a qualified First-Class Architect, a member of the Japan Institute of Architects, and an APEC Architect.
WAF – World Architecture Festival Awards is considered one of the most prestigious happening dedicated to the architecture and development industry, and the only global architecture event that combines awards, seminars and networking. At the heart of the festival sits a unique live-judged awards program.
