Research Center for Preemptive Medicine and Lifestyle-related Diseases, HIMEDIC Wing

Located on the Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine campus, this comprehensive medical support facility (for medical checkups and research) is operated by HIMEDIC, Inc. (parent company: Resorttrust, Inc). The building’s exterior is clad with ceramic pipe louvers in the motif of traditional blinds used in ‘sukiya’ and ‘machiya’ townhouses, lending it a Kyoto-like appearance. Meanwhile, the white color scheme expresses the cleanliness typical of a medical facility. The interior design also incorporates the traditional blind and folding screen motifs throughout, all of which provide an elegant, refined experience typical of Kyoto and a members-only club.
