BANGABANDHU SHEIKH MUJIBUR RAHMAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT62DHAKA, BANGLADESHNamed after the father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the airport is inspired by his dream of Sonar Bangla (Golden Bengal) and will serve as the main gateway to the nation. The entire design aims to project a strong image of Bangladesh’s rich culture and history. The airport will be developed in five phases to accommodate a progressively increasing number of travelers, ultimately reaching a total capacity of 80 million passengers per annum. The layout of the terminal development is configured to host a multi-access terminal as its central point, ensuring the highest accessibility rate during each phase of construction. In the final phase, the terminal building complex will operate as a mega-terminal.
