Nikken Sekkei & Nikken Housing System-Designed Projects are Shortlisted for World Architectural Festival Awards
(TOKYO) – Projects designed by Nikken Sekkei and Nikken Housing System have been shortlisted for 2023 World Architectural Festival (WAF) Awards. Two projects from each of the Nikken Group firms received the honors: Nikken Sekkei’s Beijing High-Tech Landmark Ding Hao 3 Reborn Project and Kurita Innovation Hub, and Nikken Housing System’s Charm Premier Grand Gotenyama II and Charm Premier Gotenyama III, respectively. Shortlisted projects are typically in strong positions to place well among awards finalists.

The Beijing project is competing in the Completed Buildings: Retrofit category, while Kurita’s facility is in WAF’s Completed Buildings: Higher Education and Research slot. Meanwhile, the Charm Premier projects are competing, respectively, in the Completed Buildings: Civic & Community and Completed Buildings: Housing categories.
Final award recipients will be announced at the World Architecture Festival’s annual gathering, which is scheduled for Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The WAF is the largest global live awards event for architects and designers.
