E-JUST: A Twin Culture Campus

The E-JUST Campus benefits from the Oriental philosophy that “perfection is achieved through the harmonization of opposites.” Although Japan and Egypt belong to different cultural spheres, the campus design theme, rather that focusing on contrasts such as dominance vs. subordinance, addresses the concepts of coexistence, fusion and sublimation to achieve a facility inclusive of the tangible and intangible values of these disparate cultures.

A "Japanese Garden" forms a center around which the center of excellence, library and faculty buildings and other facilities of the academic zone are located. The spatial arrangement is deliberately compact and diverse, creating a crowded atmosphere to promote interaction, communication and the fostering of new ideas. A “Symbolic Axis” stretching North to South through all major campus facilities evokes the combined wisdom of the campus.

The campus design also furnishes a robust living environment. Scenic greenery, the sound of water, and the touch of the breeze envelope state-of-the-art advanced research facilities, yielding a soothing atmosphere.

While the university has strong and active ties industry and academia, it also attaches great importance to its connections to society. The E-JUST Plaza is open to university personnel as well as to people from nearby towns.
