Future Vision Vladivostok

By relocating port functions, this project presents new opportunities for the redevelopment of the downtown and waterfront areas of a far eastern Russian city. Vladivostok Railway Station is the center of the transit-oriented business district along the waterfront’s center. Formerly off-limit areas were made accessible to the public via a continuous pedestrian esplanade. Meanwhile, a new business district around a proposed rail station in the north of the city will support metropolitan economic growth. Recreational and entertainment functions are proposed along the region’s Pervaya Rechka River, catering to the district’s future population.
