In 1992, after graduating from the Department of Architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology, he joined Nikken Sekkei. He has a wide range of domestic and international experience, including offices, hotels, television stations, civic centers, theaters, libraries, renovation projects, and World Expo pavilions.Following a secondment to Nikken Sekkei Shanghai from 2015 to 2017, he worked on several TOD projects in China. His philosophy is to consistently pursue designs that reflect his diverse experience—ranging from bold, surprising designs that interact with the city and transform the streetscape to delicate, subtle designs that resonate with the people who gather there.Received the Japan Federation of Architects & Building Engineers Award, the Japan Federation of Architects & Building Engineers Architecture Award, and a World Architecture Festival award for the “Otsuka Group Osaka Headquarters Building.” Received the Japan Federation of Architects & Building Engineers Award for the “Kiyo Bank Tanabe Branch.” For “Suzhou Modern Media Plaza,” received the China National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award and was featured in the Architectural Institute of Japan’s Selected Works Collection.For the “Suzhou Wujiang Bus Terminal,” he received the Excellence Award at the China Real Estate Design Awards. For the “Midosuji Daibiru,” he was selected for the JIA Outstanding Architecture Selection, received the Osaka Governor’s Award at the Osaka Architecture Competition, and was awarded the Osaka Mayor’s Award at the Osaka Urban Landscape Architecture Awards.
