Takako Honda

Takako Honda joined Nikken Sekkei after graduating from Kobe University in 1989. She specializes in architectural design, specifically medical and welfare-related facilities from small clinics to high functioning university hospitals. She places importance on client dialogue to create hospitals that are beautiful, easy-to-use, and harmonic regarding equipment and functionality. She also actively disseminates information on Nikken Sekkei's medical facility design through lectures and writing. Her design for Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital won the Japan Institute of Healthcare Architecture Award. She is a registered first-class architect, a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) and The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA), and a part-time lecturer at Kobe University.
