In 1994, after completing his master’s degree at Yokohama National University, he joined Nikken Sekkei. As an electrical systems designer, he worked on medical facilities, research facilities, manufacturing facilities, educational facilities, auditoriums, logistics facilities, data centers, offices, and large-scale redevelopment projects. During this time, he spent three years stationed on-site as a design supervisor.Through direct exposure to the perspectives of facility managers and contractors, I gained a renewed appreciation for the significant responsibilities of a mechanical and electrical systems designer.
As society’s demands on architecture—such as carbon neutrality, business continuity planning (BCP), and sustainable design—continue to grow year by year, I strive to create building systems designs that minimize the burden on facility managers, who provide the behind-the-scenes support for these functions.
