Kyu Nakajima

In 1990, he joined Nikken Sekkei. His specialty is architectural design.
Projects he has worked on include the “Shiga Prefectural Lake Biwa Museum,” “Kyocera Dome Osaka,” “Hasegawa Hospital,” “Suma Ward Office,” “Nakanoshima Festival Tower,” “Kumamoto Prefectural Kagayakinomori School for Special Needs Education,” “Kongō Welfare Center Katsuragi and Nijō,”“Kitakyushu City Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center,” and “Mixi Headquarters.” He has a proven track record in designing a wide range of facilities, including sports facilities, medical and welfare facilities, cultural facilities, offices, and government buildings, and has received numerous awards, including the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award for Public Architecture, the Japan Institute of Architects Award for Excellence in Architecture, the BCS Award, and the Medical and Welfare Architecture Award.
In 2016, he led the team that won the international competition for Camp Nou Stadium, the home stadium of the FC Barcelona. While working on numerous projects as an expert in sports and entertainment facilities, he also has extensive experience and a proven track record in designing facilities for children with disabilities.
He is a First-Class Architect, a Registered Architect with the Japan Institute of Architects, a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan, a Certified Facility Manager, and an Interior Planner.
