Makoto Wakabayashi

In 1985, after completing his master’s degree at Toyohashi University of Technology, he joined Nikken Sekkei. His specialty is architectural design.He has primarily worked on projects in the educational and government building sectors. His portfolio spans a wide range of projects, including the iconic skyscraper Mode Gakuen Spiral Towers; environmentally conscious buildings such as Seto City Shinonodai Elementary School and Minato Ward Shibaura Elementary School; and government buildings such as the Kakegawa City Hall and the Gifu Prefectural Government Building.The projects he has worked on to date have received numerous awards, including the Public Architecture Award (Commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), the Sustainable Architecture Award (Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award), the JIA Environmental Architecture Award, and the BCS Award. He is a First-Class Architect, a member of the Japan Institute of Architects, a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan, and an APEC Architect.
