Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) Campus

In Eastern philosophy, there is a concept that “perfection is achieved through the harmony of opposing forces.”At first glance, Japan in the East and Egypt in the West may appear to belong to vastly different cultural spheres; however, without being bound by notions of hierarchy or superiority, we aimed to create a campus that embraces the tangible and intangible values of these two polar cultures by striving for coexistence, fusion, and sublimation.

The “Japanese Garden,” located at the center of the campus, is surrounded by a cluster of buildings, including the core research facilities of the Academic Zone, the library, and the undergraduate and graduate school buildings.The arrangement of architecturally diverse buildings within a compact space creates an intimate atmosphere that stimulates communication and fosters breakthroughs in new ideas. The “Symbolic Axis,” which runs north to south through the site, connects the main facilities on campus and links the collective knowledge of the entire campus.

The university campus offers a pleasant environment—with gentle breezes, views of greenery, and the sound of flowing water—that inspires the people who spend their days there.

While the university maintains strong and active ties with industry and academia, it also places great importance on its connection with society; the E-JUST Plaza is open not only to university members but also to residents of the surrounding community.
