Takayuki Ishikawa

After completing his graduate studies at Kyushu University in 1987, he joined Nikken Sekkei. His area of expertise is urban planning.Since joining the firm, he has been involved in a wide range of architectural and urban planning projects, from facility planning to large-scale development. After working on urban design projects primarily in East Asia starting in 2004, he transferred to the Nikken Sekkei Research Institute in 2008. From 2009, he was seconded to the Japan Project Industry Council (JAPIC) for two years, where he was involved in policy advocacy activities.In recent years, in addition to suburban revitalization and urban development, he has supported the development of smart city and TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) projects through the overseas expansion of infrastructure systems. He has witnessed firsthand how people and technologies connect across various regions and organizations to give rise to new spaces and lifestyles. He is a Certified Professional Engineer and a Certified Urban Planner. He is a full member of the Japan Institute of Urban Planners.
