Takayuki Ishikawa joined Nikken Sekkei in 1987 after graduating from graduate school at Kyushu University. He specializes in urban planning, and since joining Nikken Sekkei, he has been involved in a wide range of architectural and urban-related projects, from facility planning to large-scale development. After working on urban design projects mainly in East Asia since 2004, he moved to Nikken Sekkei Research Institute in 2008. He was seconded to the JAPIC (Japan Project-Industry Council) for two years in 2009, where he was engaged in activities on policy recommendations. In recent years, he has provided support to the formation of smart city and TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) projects on the development of infrastructure systems overseas, in addition to urban development focused on suburban renewal. Mr. Ishikawa also has experience in connecting people and technology in various areas and organizations to create new spaces and styles. He is a professional engineer and certified urban planner. He is a full member of The JSURP (Japan Society of Urban and Regional Planners).
