In 1991, after completing his master’s degree at Toyohashi University of Technology, he joined Nikken Sekkei. After working on design and supervision for domestic projects—including the Faculty of Nursing at Shizuoka Prefectural Junior College, the Juroku Bank Computer Center, and the Tokai Television headquarters building—he completed a master’s degree at the University of East London in the United Kingdom in 2007. Upon returning to Japan, he has been responsible for design and supervision in the Middle East on projects such as Burj Al Alam (Dubai), the Tadawul Tower (Riyadh, 2009–scheduled for completion in 2022; IPA Award recipient).
