In 1990, after completing his graduate studies at Musashi Institute of Technology, he joined Nikken Sekkei.During his first year at the firm and from 2014 to 2017, he was based at the Tokyo office; during the rest of his career, he was based at the Nagoya office, working as a mechanical and electrical engineer and construction supervisor. To date, he has been involved in projects for a wide range of facility types, including medical facilities, manufacturing facilities, government buildings and offices, educational facilities, and commercial and cultural facilities.In the field of medical facilities, after gaining experience in the design and supervision of the 920-bed Toyohashi Municipal Hospital during his second year at the firm, he has been responsible for more than 20 hospital projects. At the Tokoname Municipal Hospital, he planned a ward for new infectious diseases at what was then the fourth designated medical institution in Japan for specific infectious diseases; the project also received the Carbon Neutrality Award for implementing integrated energy management spanning design, construction, and operation.
