He graduated from the Department of Architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1979 and joined Nikken Sekkei.As a structural engineer, he has been in charge of numerous projects, including skyscrapers, seismic-isolation buildings, and large-span structures, and has received many structural engineering awards, such as the Architectural Institute of Japan Award (Technical), the Shiodome Sumitomo Building (Japan Association of Structural Engineers Award [Project]), and the Shinano Mainichi Shimbun Headquarters (Japan Seismic Isolation Association Award [Project]).Japan Society of Structural Engineers, Architectural Institute of Japan.
