Yasutomo Matsui

In 1993, after completing his studies at the Graduate School of Environmental Science at the University of Tsukuba, he joined Nikken Sekkei.
He provides consulting services across all phases of a project—from inception to completion—including research for the formulation of administrative plans and institutional reviews, as well as the planning and conceptualization of private-sector urban development projects, negotiation and coordination, and project implementation.He has extensive experience in development projects that utilize underutilized land, such as former factory sites. He has been involved in planning and project implementation for the Osaki Station West Exit Development—which became Tokyo’s first Special Zone for Urban Regeneration—as well as projects in Tokyo’s waterfront areas (Harumi, Toyosu, and Rinkai Fukutoshin), Osaka’s Yumeshima, and Yokohama’s Yamashita Pier.In addition, the firm has participated in various phases—from planning to project implementation—of urban regeneration in central Sapporo and is working to establish a public-private collaboration platform.
