A "park-like hotel" for the future

The project site is a one-minute walk from Sapporo Station. Due to dramatic changes in work habits brought about by COVID-19, we aimed to create a "hotel as close to everyone as a park" that allows for both work and travel activities. The lobby comprises a limited space with sofas, counters, a workspace to concentrate, and an exhibition space that connects the hotel with local artists. The sum is a variety of places for guests to occupy and flexibly respond to individual time-spending habits. Guest rooms can be used as studies or living rooms, depending on the mood (with movable furniture and signage), yielding a new kind of "passive work/travel" hotel. Furniture, lighting, and adorably detailed items akin to playground equipment are scattered throughout the hotel, and special materials and detailing create a gentle, comfortable atmosphere.
