In 1992, after completing a master’s degree program at the Waseda University, he joined Nikken Sekkei. His specialty is mechanical and equipment design.Since joining the firm, he has been responsible for mechanical and electrical systems design for a wide range of projects, primarily in the fields of manufacturing, research, logistics, and airport facilities. He served as Project Manager for the Tokyo Denki University Senju Campus (completed in 2012), a collaborative project (structural and mechanical/electrical systems) with Maki and Associates (general planning and architectural design).He has received awards including the JABMEE Excellence Award for Environmental Systems (2014) and the Sustainable Architecture Award—Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award (2014). He also participated in performance verification conducted over the three years following the project’s completion and received the Technical Award from the Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan (2015).
Since 2008, he has served as a member of the Working Group for the “Guidelines for Seismic Design and Construction of Building Systems” published by the Japan Building Center (a general incorporated foundation), and has since served as an instructor for training sessions on these guidelines. He also participates in committees related to seismic design of building systems at other foundations.
His motto is: “Building systems are living organisms; system design must be based on a thorough understanding of how a building is used.”
Certified Professional Engineer (Sanitary Engineering Division) and First-Class Architect specializing in building systems design.
