Kengo Makino
Director
In 1990, after completing a master’s program at Tokyo University of the Arts, he joined Nikken Sekkei. Since then, he has been responsible for the architectural design of office buildings, educational facilities such as middle schools, high schools, and universities, research institutes, and commercial facilities. Notable projects include the Sumitomo Realty & Development Korakuen Building, the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway East Tokyo Regional Office, Tohoku Pharmaceutical University, and Otsuma Junior and Senior High School.
Since 2011, as a project manager, he has been responsible for projects such as Tokyu Plaza Ginza, the Keiyo Bank Chiba Minato Headquarters, the Soka University New Comprehensive Research Building, and Shibuya Scramble Square the First Phase (East Tower).
In today’s environment, where scopes of work and professional roles are becoming increasingly specialized, I aim to create buildings by taking a holistic view of the entire project that transcends the boundaries of design, structural engineering, mechanical and electrical systems, project management, and architecture. First-Class Architect.
