Kyosuke Takano joined Nikken Sekkei after finishing studies at Waseda University's graduate school in 1989. As a mechanical engineer in the Engineering Department, he gained experience in new construction and renovation projects and practiced total project management. Since 2016, from his position in the life cycle design department, he has been in charge of renewal projects focusing on total construction and equipment energy savings as well as global environmental consideration. His team received the Energy Conservation Grand Prize, the Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers Renewal Prize, and the Carbon Neutral Grand Prize for the Kyoto Station Building Heat Source and HVAC Renovation. He promotes business models that continuously provide LCD (Life Cycle Design) services to address customer challenges, handling diverse operations including building equipment deterioration diagnostics, mid-to-long-term maintenance planning, heritage preservation, asset utilization, and carbon neutrality initiatives. He is a licensed building mechanical & electrical engineer and a building equipment diagnostic engineer.
