In 1989, he graduated from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Department of Electrical Engineering) at Waseda University and joined Nikken Sekkei.
He has been responsible for projects such as Tokyo Gas Earthport, the Epson Innovation Center, the low-carbon lighting renovation of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens, and the YKK 80 Building, and has received the Sustainable Architecture Award, the Institute of Electrical Equipment Engineers of Japan Award, and the Japan Lighting Award. Since 2004, he has served as Chair of the Global Environment Committee of the Institute of Electrical Equipment Engineers of Japan.
Aiming for “people, spaces, and functions that are both appealing and sustainable,” he works to address the challenges faced by clients and users—such as environmental considerations, health and comfort, safety, and disaster response—by utilizing digital technologies like sensors, robots, and AI.
Certifications include PE, LEED AP, WELL AP, PMP, WiredScore AP, SmartScore AP, Professional Engineer (Electrical and Electronic Division), First-Class Architect for Building Systems, and Chief Telecommunications Engineer.
Since December 2023, he has also served concurrently at SynapSpark Co., Ltd.
