Taro Katsuyama completed his master’s degree at Waseda University before joining Nikken Sekkei in 1990. His area of specialization is architectural design. He has been involved in a wide range of developments focusing on downtown Osaka. These include Daibiru-Honkan Building, Nakanoshima 3-chome district development, and Grand Green Osaka. He has also worked on designs in diverse fields, including tenant office buildings, head-office buildings, luxury hotels, university campuses and community facilities. In addition to the JIA (Japan Institute of Architects) Award, the Japan Federation of Architects & Building Engineers Associations Award, BCS (Building Contractors Association) Prize and the Selected Architectural Designs of the AIJ (Architecture Institute of Japan). He has won awards for the landscape and environmental design of public spaces. He is a registered first-class architect and holds memberships in the JIA and the AIJ.
