Tomoo Asahi

After graduating from Nagoya Institute of Technology and completing his graduate studies at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, he joined Nikken Sekkei in 2008. As a structural engineer, he has been responsible for projects such as the “Osaka-Kansai Expo Guest House,” “Toyota Memorial Hospital,” “Kochi City New City Hall,” “Sumitomo Realty & Development Kojimachi Garden Tower,” “Nissei New Headquarters Building,” “Kobe Gakuin University High School,” “Suzhou Modern Media Plaza,”“Kyoto Sangyo University Manyukan,” and “Aichi Prefectural Comprehensive Medical and Rehabilitation Center.” In addition to his design work, he is engaged in social contribution activities related to urban disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as environmental vibration, serving as a commissioned researcher at the Nagoya University Center for Collaborative Research on Disaster Mitigation and as a committee member of the Architectural Institute of Japan focusing on environmental vibration.In 2017, he devised a technology to dampen vertical vibrations and filed a patent application. He is a First-Class Architect specializing in structural design and a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan and the Japan Association of Structural Engineers.
