This facility represents the advent of a new age in medical care advancements where half of cancer treatment patients can expect a full recovery. Along with rising cure rates, treatment goals have also risen, enabling swift rehabilitation and normal lifestyle resumption. Proton beams and carbon-ion beams comprise the core of the Center’s leading technology. Collectively known as “particle beams,” they yield high curative effects and fewer side effects vs. x-rays used in conventional radiation therapy. Such therapy comprises long and complex steps—from planning, implementation to evaluation – in order to enable patient comfort during lengthy hospitalization times and outpatient treatment. Special attention was therefore given to creating facilities with a focus on improving the quality of life.
