Takamori Yamazaki joined Nikken Sekkei in 1983 after completing a master’s course at Waseda University. He specializes in architectural design. Since joining Nikken Sekkei, he has worked on numerous projects in Japan and overseas, including a two-year assignment in New York. After building up an impressive track record overseas, he has focused on skyscrapers and mixed-use facilities in Asia and the Middle East from 2006. His recent projects include the 261m-high Menara Astra in Jakarta (2017), winner of the MIPIM ASIA 2018 Best Innovative Green Building Award, and the 200m Tadawul Tower in Riyadh (2023), winner of the International Property Award 2014, Best International High Rise Building Award, and CTBUH 2023 Award of Excellence: Middle East & Africa. His other credits include the 301m One Za'abeel project in Dubai (2024), the BTB Middle East & Africa category winner. Mr. Yamazaki is a registered first-class architect, a registered architect in the State of New York, and an APEC architect. He also holds memberships in the AIA (American Institute of Architects), the AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) and the JIA (Japan Institute of Architects).
