Takayuki Sakamoto

In 2000, after completing his graduate studies at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Waseda University, he joined Nikken Sekkei. He was responsible for the architectural design of various types of projects, including aquariums and guest reception facilities. He subsequently expanded his scope of work and has undertaken numerous projects aimed at using design to help solve social and corporate challenges.In recent years, based on research focusing on the relationship between human emotions, the physical environment, and science and technology, he has been engaged in: developing concepts and strategies that carefully interpret and resolve challenges and needs that are difficult to put into words; “Emotionscape Design,” which creates visions of future spaces and experiences that resonate with people’s hearts; and “Design Management,” which provides ongoing support for consistent design-based business decision-making grounded in these concepts.Major projects include Tokyu Plaza Ginza, Park Axis Premier Minami-Aoyama, and Shibuya Furasu.
