Hiroyuki Usami

Hiroyuki Usami joined Nikken Housing System in 1987 after graduating from Shibaura Institute of Technology. His specialty is architectural design. Since joining the company, he has been in charge of various urban housing projects, and received numerous accolades. In addition to overseeing the Architectural Design Department, he established the Life Innovative Design Laboratory to bring innovation to homes, communities, individual lives, spaces and society by designing "systems for living." Through various planning and research, he has overseen community creation and product development projects. He joined Nikken Sekkei in 2025 after serving as company President and CEO in 2019. He is a first-class architect, and holds memberships in the JIA (Japan Institute of Architects), the AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan), and the Landscape Architecture Institute of Japan.
