Jin Xia

After graduating from the Department of Architectural Structures at Tongji University in 1988, he worked in China for five years.In 1996, following Nikken Sekkei’s victory in the design competition for the “Shanghai Information Hub,” he began working in the Structural Engineering Department at Nikken Sekkei. Since then, he has been engaged in structural analysis, structural design, and project management for standalone projects involving both structural and mechanical/electrical systems. Overseas, his projects include the “Guangzhou Library,” the “Shenzhen Taiping Financial Tower,”“Suzhou Taiping Financial Tower,” “Xinyuan International Shijiazhuang Complex,” and “Suzhou Center”; and in Japan, he has been responsible for the structural design of projects such as the “Yokohama Marine Tower Seismic Retrofit” and the “Kahoku Shimpo” building. He has received awards including the World Chinese Architectural Creation Award, the Architectural Institute of Japan Project Selection Award, and the CITAB-CTBUH China Best Tall Buildings Architectural Honor Award.
