The north-south-oriented commercial facility would disrupt the continuity of green space between Chōan Park and the residential area. To eliminate this disruption, the commercial volume is raised off the ground to create a deep, eye-level space that incorporates the park’s greenery, along with an open rooftop terrace that looks out toward the sky. By allowing guests to experience the greenery, light, and breeze, these features emphasize the continuity of greenery and the sense of openness from east to west.
