Hyogo Prefecture Government Tachinishiki General Medical Center

Drawing on lessons learned from recent natural disasters, this center is a new medical facility created through the integration and reorganization of two prefectural hospitals. To ensure adequate emergency medical care during disasters, the facility is equipped with seismic isolation structures, tsunami countermeasures, a rooftop helipad, a covered drop-off area, a space in front of the main entrance capable of accommodating various emergency vehicles, and various systems to maintain hospital operations even during infrastructure outages. It also features a flexible system that allows for functional reconfiguration during disasters; for example, the entrance lobby and auditorium can be utilized as triage areas.
