HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAMAKURA

This new hotel project is located in front of the second torii gate of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura. Aiming to create a hotel with the worldview of a "quiet villa surrounded by trees," the hotel's identity is based on a "comfortable sense of security." Particular importance was placed on the "veranda" of the guest rooms. In accordance with the scale of the ancient capital and landscape regulations, the ceiling height of the guest room floors was kept low at 2.95m, but the full-height windows that span the entire width of the entrance and the veranda that extends beyond them blend with the front garden, which was planned while preserving the ancient capital's pine trees and stone walls, and with the scenery of Kamakura, providing both comfort and a sense of openness. By carefully designing the buffer space that seamlessly connects the outside and the inside, the landscape, architecture, and interior all blend together, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The result is a hotel that nurtures an appreciation for the changing seasons and nature, and allows guests to relax as if they were living there.
