The arch's shape evokes a swan
This stadium, which served as a venue for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, serves as a hub for the region’s sporting life. Its design, featuring large cross arches and smaller arches, evokes the image of swans flying over the lagoon (coastal lake) that stretches out in front of the stadium, earning it the affectionate nickname “Big Swan.”
