A New Landmark in the Ancient Capital of Kyoto
A plan for a medium-sized commercial facility located in Shijo Takakura, in the heart of Kyoto. The facade design is characterized by a dynamic interpretation of “shōji”—a traditional Japanese architectural element—using large-format ceramic-printed glass. By meticulously weaving together each individual component, the design creates the vibrant atmosphere expected of a commercial facility while maintaining a dignified presence befitting the historic cityscape of Kyoto.
