Sri Lanka's Commercial Hub Undergoing a Rebirth

The project site is located at the Port of Colombo, the largest port in Colombo—one of Sri Lanka’s leading commercial cities. The fundamental concept of transforming the Port of Colombo into a new financial center was conceived by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. This new district plan includes facilities designed to enrich residents’ lifestyles, such as Grade A offices, medical facilities, educational institutions, an integrated resort, a marina, commercial facilities, and hotels. The lower floors of the two office towers feature a flared, plinth-like design, providing a vast public plaza. Reflecting Nikken Sekkei’s key objectives of “People First” and “Smart and Sustainable,” the landscape features a rich natural environment, lush trees, and water features that bring the natural elements close to residents.
